High-speed Rail Linking Three Airports (Don Mueang – Suvarnabhumi – U-Tapao) Extension Line: Rayong – Chanthaburi – Trat Section

The project aims to further develop rail networks in the eastern region after the precedent project (Phase I, Don Mueang – Suvarnabhumi – U-Tapao Section) to accommodate rail freight transport in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). It thus provides links to industrial estates, ports, and central and eastern airports; bolsters the Eastern Fruit Corridor (EFC) to promote tourism in Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces; enhances the efficiency of rail transport; reduces costs and time of travel; and promotes the use of rail transport. 

 

TEAM GROUP was entrusted with the feasibility study of the project route covering three provinces, namely Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Studies in terms of engineering, economy, society, finance, appropriate investment approach, environment, public participation along the project route, and preliminary design were also conducted.
