Chit Lom Electricity Terminal Station and Transmission Line Tunnel

Client : Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) Services :  Detailed Design and Construction Supervision TEAM GROUP was entrusted with the design and construction supervision of the Chit Lom electricity terminal station, along with a transmission tunnel connecting Bang Kapi and Chit Lom stations. This project was initiated to enhance the electricity distribution efficiency of MEA in order to meet the increasing demand for electricity in Bangkok’s business areas. The Chit Lom station was first constructed in 1980 to transmit electricity from Bang Kapi station to the areas of Ratchaprasong, Phloen Chit, Sukhumvit, Silom and Pathumwan. However, oil leakage from the underground and time-worn oil-filled transmission lines caused frequent short circuits, affecting the security of the distribution system. The MEA thus decided to construct a large new terminal station and underground conduit. The new station is housed in a reinforced concrete 10- story structure with a total functional area of 8,500 m2, designed for the installation of three 230/69 kV 300 MVA transformers (two are currently installed), SCADA system, oil tanks for the oil-filled cables, and other control systems.

Development of 55 MW AC Solar Energy Project in Lop Buri

Clients :   Natural Energy Development Co., Ltd., Italian-Thai Development PCL (ITD), Italthai Engineering Co., Ltd. (ITE) Services : Detailed Design ITD and ITE were assigned to construct a 55 MW (net) AC solar plant on a 600-acre plot in Wang Phloeng Sub-district, Khok Samrong District, Lop Buri. The project is part of the Natural Energy Development Co., Ltd.’s solar power plant, one of the world’s largest solar photovoltaic schemes. Over the 25 years the project will run for, it will help the country reduce CO2 emissions by over 1.3 million tons and cut fuel imports by over 35,000 tons per year. In the future, a renewable energy learning center specializing in solar power will be established and it is expected that this will attract increasing numbers of visitors to the area, thus increasing income for the community and nearby areas. Services:  Detailed design of a 115/22 kV substation, inverter houses, foundation for the PV system, amenities and security system, and accompanying infrastructure

Detailed Design and Construction Supervision for Overhead Cable Replacement with Underground Cable System: Nonsi Project

Client : Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA)Services : Detailed design, construction supervision, and progress reporting In response to the government policy, the MEA initiated a project to improve electricity distribution in Bangkok by replacing overhead cables with underground cables in order to enhance Bangkok’s landscape and increase public orderliness. For underground medium-voltage (MV 12/24KV) and low-voltage electricity distribution systems, the project would carry out both surface and non-surface construction. For the high-voltage system (HV 69/115KV), the project would deploy pipe-jacking construction. The project also covered the construction of the Nonsi Switching Unit Station; the procurement, installation and testing of electrical equipment and system; survey of existing manholes; the installation of electricity poles and devices for electricity distribution; and training. TEAM GROUP was assigned with the tasks on detailed design, data collection monitoring, construction supervision, coordinating with relevant agencies, and handling complaints as well as removing any obstacles during construction and reporting to the MEA for consideration. Progress reports were also prepared and submitted to the MEA on a regular basis.
