Preparation of Supporting ESIA Documents for Paklay HPP, Lao PDR (2022-2023)
Client : Sinohydro (Hong Kong) Holding Limited and Gulf Energy Development PCL. On March 17, 2020, SHK and GULF entered into an agreement for the joint development of Paklay Hydropower Project. The dam site is located in Paklay District of Xayaburi Province and Med District of Vientiane Province, about 1,829 km away from the Mekong River estuary. PLHPP is a run-of-river scheme with a normal water level of 240 m MSL and an installed capacity of 770 MW (14 x 55 MW). ESIA of Paklay HPP was first carried out in 2014 and the latest update was approved by MONRE, GOL in June 2022. TEAM Group was engaged to update the supporting ESIA documents for Paklay HPP in August 2022, with a total contract period of 9 months, for submission to the Lender.
EIA Report for Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate (Project 2) of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited
Client : Amata Corporation Public Company Limited Amata Corporation Public Company Limited had conceptualized the development of Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate (Project 2) under a smart city concept and to be named “AMATA Smart City.” This was aimed at supporting the Eastern Economic Corridor Project (EEC)—a mechanism to drive Thailand 4.0 policy—in accordance with the Notification of the Policy Committee of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Special Development Zone to support 9 target industries. Mixed-use development will be embraced with an emphasis on co-existence of industry and urban people under an efficient energy management system with minimum environmental impacts. The project development plan has been divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 will be implemented in the project area approved according to the EIA Report, 2022, with an area of 5,354.5 rai; and Phase 2 will cover the remaining area in accordance with the Notification of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand regarding Establishment of General Industrial Zone of Amata City Industrial Estate (Project 2) with an area of about 1,930.5 rai. The total area of the Industrial Estate is approximately 7,285 rai. TEAM GROUP was entrusted with the Environmental Impact Assessment report preparation and public consultation.
